My life has always focused around physical activity: Mountain Biking, Hiking, In-line skating, and Group Sports. So, when I initially tried yoga, it was purely for the fitness aspect alone. My first class was quite a surprise! I was expecting to leave the class feeling tire and drained of energy as I had in other fitness classes. Instead, I felt energized, focused, and balanced. I was hooked! - and so began my yoga journey of growth and inspiration.
I initially began my career in fitness as a Personal Trainer in 2001. I earned my first yoga certification through "Yogafit" in 2003. I have since completed a 200 hour instructor certification training though "CorePower Yoga" in Minneapolis and am a R.Y.T. (Registered Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance.
My yoga style is a vinyasa flow, meaning that poses flow from one to another and are synchronized with the breath. My style is adapted from Baron Baptiste Yoga - an empowering, transformational, rejuvenating style of yoga. I emphasize a non-competitive and fun environment and believe that yoga should be accessible to everyone. So, while my classes can be challenging, many modifications are offered making them accessible to a wide range of students.
